Shingonshu was created by Kukai. Anybody can be a Buddha after training. Many religions came from Shigonshu. Kogi shingonshu has many different kinds of beliefs under Koyasan, Toji, Daigo, Omuro, Daikakuji, Yamashina, Senyuji, Zentsuji and Shingonritsu. Shingishingonshu has two kinds of beliefs. Chizan and Toyama.

Shingonshu rosary has 108 beads. There are 2 Oyadamas, 10 beads on both sides of the Husa (two dangling straps)

There are also nenjyu called Katakuri nenju (hunguri nenju) which has 54 beads. There is only one Oyadama, and a smaller bead that is placed on the 7th and 21st place with 10 beads of the Husa.


Shinran created Jyodoshinshu. The name Jodoshinshu came after the Meiji period. It was called Ikko-shu before that. In the other beliefs you can train to become a Buddha, but in Jodo-shinshu Amidanyorai leads people to heaven. The main 10 beliefs in Jodo Shinshu is called Shinshu Jyuppa. The 10 beliefs are the following: Ooya,Takada, Bukkoji, Kosho, Kibe, Yamamoto, Jyoshoji, Sanmonto, Izumoji.

Their main use of rosary is for praying and training. Not for easing your worries or gaining your virtue.

108 beaded rosaries are used. Rinzaishu and Oobakushu have 2 oyadamas, one side has 10 small beads and the 5th bead has a knot in it. For Sotoshu, between oyadama and Kojyushiten has 18 beads between them. A ring called 108 Kankin is through them.
